Mamelodi Sundowns will be all smiles again this season with a total of R120 million to be won.

Mamelodi Sundowns will dance to the joy of bank notifications with multiple zeros again this season with their seventh consecutive DStv Premiership title possibly being wrapped up on Thursday.

Sundowns will be confirmed as champions if they take all three points against Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium.

That will mean R15 million in the bank, which is what the DStv Premiership champions get.

Sundowns already have USD4 million (approx. R75 million) for winning the inaugural African Football League.

Then in the Champions League, The Brazilians will get USD1,2 million (approximately R22,3 million) for reaching the semi-finals.

This stretches their prizemoney from those three competitions to around R112 million.

Sundowns also received R800 000 after losing in the final of the MTN8 and had another R550 000 for their first-round exit in the Carling Knockout.

The Brazilians remain alive in the Nedbank Cup with a trip to the Cape Winelands, where in-form Stellenbosch will be waiting for a semi-final date on Sunday.

This means at least another R1 million (plus R250 000 participation fee for all 16 PSL clubs) in the bank, which is what teams that reach the last four are guaranteed of.

On offer for lifting the trophy on June 1 is R7 million (plus R250 000 participation fee for all 16 PSL clubs), which could lift their total to just over R120 million for the season.

Then beyond all the money that Sundowns will bank locally, and on the continent, they will also get R1 billion for qualifying for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

It has been reported that all 32 clubs at next year’s expanded tournament – which will run from June 15 to July 13 – will pocket R1 billion each.
